SPECIAL ISSUE: CONNECTING GENERATIONS
DEAR Mang Franco,
Student at St. Bernard High School
Dear Big Brother:
The tortures your body has endured should not be one to forget but to embrace. You were a guerrilla in the monkey house, a force to be reckoned with. They feared you and wanted to bring you down, but nothing could do it. Why, Big Brother? Why did you endure the tortures for so long and how? Was it your robust body alone or the unbreakable spirit that you had? You want to forget the pain and the torment, but your body wants to remember. It never wants to forget. Because, Big Brother Franco, your body knows the value and importance of going through hard times. It knows that all the torment made you strong enough to stand before us today. Thank you, Big Brother, for telling us the story your body wanted to forget.
